Drapery Swags 3 9259 Print

Can I alter the swag?
We cannot give you instructions to alter the swag in width or depth. To go beyond the sizes given would require the shape and size of the pattern, and the pleat angles to change. There is no formula for a quick fix.

Will stripes hang straight on the jabot?
The fabric suggestions state that stripes are not a good choice for the 9259 jabot (includes the lining). The stripes will hang with a variety of angles.

I am making 9259 drapery swag, did it like the pattern suggested, finished the stack real nice with hand sewing. My problem is that since this is finishing out 3/4” thick at the top, when I put the drapery hooks at the back and try to hang it, it wants to tip forward, exposing all my stitching on the top stack.
I cannot figure out where to put the drapery pins so that the 3/4” thickness is “centered” under the ring.

The instructions tell you to sew the screw eyes to the swag before the pleats are folded (see page 4, and also page 6). It shows placement to be behind the extreme front edge. It is important that the swag is supported from the front of the swag. When the ring is placed behind all the pleats, the stitches would have to come all the way through to the front to give support. Otherwise, the weight at the front of the swag will fall down, causing the lining to show. The pattern also gives an alternative sewing method that will eliminate the inside seam at the top.
