This pattern was revised in 1999. If you don’t
have the latest pattern you may return your used pattern for
a new one at ½ price. If your pattern is unused there
is no charge, except shipping cost.
The pattern states that view B swags must be between
14” to 20” wide. I need them to be 22” wide.
How can I alter it?
To go beyond the sizes given would require pleat angles, size
and shape of the pattern to change. We cannot help you with
that.
I can’t add another swag. I am about 3”
short of the board width.
Keep the swags within the range of the pattern. Make the return
area larger so it can fill in the extra room at each side
on front of the board.
Does the shade have pouff’s in it when it is
all the way down or does it become flat and straight at the
bottom?
Both Views A and B have permanent folds when let all the way
down. If you want View A to be straight and flat at the bottom
you can skip Steps 11 and 12 and sew rings to each dot, as
usual. Do not tie the rings together. You can’t do this
with View B.
What do you mean by “using returns”?
A return is the fabric that wraps around and covers the “ends”
of the mount board. These returns have to be stabilized at
the bottom of the shade with a curtain rod that has a projection.
Can I use the Rollease system to lift the shade with
returns?
No. These lift systems do not allow for a cord that can operate
the return.
Can I use ring tape instead of hand sewing all those
rings?
No, ring tape has to be sewn all the way through all fabrics.
Stitching would show from the front. This is not a professional
look.
Can these shades be adjusted to mount on an arched
board?
View A can. Instructions are in our “Manual Collection”
for shaping and for making and stringing the mount board.
Because of the swagged top, View, B can not be mounted on
an arched board..
Are these shades recommended when we need to pull
them up and down a lot?
No, all balloon shades have to be dressed every time you pull
them. View B is harder to dress than others.
