This pattern was revised in 1998. If you don’t
have the latest pattern you may return your used pattern for
a new one at ½ price. If your pattern is unused there
is no charge, except shipping cost.
Can I alter the valance?
The pattern has a wide range of width sizes. Other sizes can
be created if you reshape the bottom curve. Depth can be extended
or shortened at the top.
Can the different styles be attached to a board or
a pole?
All of the styles can be mounted on a board, curtain rod or
pole. The valance installs to a curtain rod by using drapery
hooks.
Is it possible to add a banding of contrasting fabric
to the bottom edge of the scallops and pleats?
You can add a banding. If your banding will be over 1”
wide you will need to do an intricate banding which is more
difficult. Instructions for this are in our Designer’s
Digest and Workroom Manual Collection, page 4E-5.
The instructions state to use crinoline, but they
don’t state what width to use.
Crinoline is the stiffener used at the top of drapery pleats
and can be purchased at any drapery fabric shop. Standard
crinoline size is 4”. You could also use 3” or
5” widths. It depends on how deep your valance is.
View D shows a rosette on top. Are there instructions
on how to make this?
The pattern and instructions are included in the pattern.
I want to use the Queen Ann, but I have a heavy fabric.
Is this ok?
Only using View F. The other pleats couldn’t handle
a heavy fabric.
Can I use interlining on the Queen Ann?
Yes you can interline the Queen Ann. Information and instructions
for interlining are in our Designer’s
Digest and Workroom Manual Collection, chapter 3H and
3 I.
Can I cut the face fabric on the bias?
We do not recommend cutting the Queen Ann on the bias.
Are there instructions to make the Queen Ann a box
pleat?
Special instructions for adapting View A to a box pleat are
in our Designer’s
Digest and Workroom Manual Collection.
